Food Poisoning in a Charlotte Restaurant: New Inspection Shows ‘Disgusting’ Health Violations in Local Restaurants

Charlotte Personal Injury Attorney Matt Arnold answers the question: “What can you sue for in a personal injury case?”

Foodborne illnesses affect one in six Americans every year, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimating that 48 million people in the U.S. get sick due to one or another of 31 pathogens.

When you eat out at restaurants, you expect chefs and staff members to follow prescribed food preparation standards to make sure that their meals are free of contaminants and are safe to eat.

Unfortunately, not everyone is following appropriate safety protocols when it comes to cleaning, preparing, and cooking foods. The latest report by WCNC shows “disgusting health violations” found in restaurants across Charlotte.

If you developed severe illness, foodborne disease, or food poisoning as a result of eating contaminated or otherwise unsafe foods in a restaurant, contact our Charlotte personal injury attorney. Here at Arnold & Smith, PLLC, our lawyers will help you establish elements of a personal injury claim if you suffered harm after eating out at a Charlotte restaurant.

Inspection Shows Health Violations in Charlotte Restaurants

If you have dinner reservations but have no plans eating a chicken salad that is nearly two weeks old, we suggest you read the latest report of restaurant health inspection scores in Charlotte.

As reported by WCNC, a new health inspection found “disgusting health violations” in several Charlotte restaurants. Some of these violations could make patrons and consumers sick, while others could result in food poisoning and foodborne disease.

Urban Cookhouse on East Woodlawn Road scored 86 out of 100 due to serving a chicken salad that was 11 days old. The Charlotte restaurant also had gnats flying all over the kitchen and a dirty ice machine.

The inspection found hand-washing violations in Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road after someone in the kitchen was caught handling fish with their bare hands. Aside from this violation, the fish was re-cooked, and there was a dirty ice machine.

The Morazan Bar and Grill on Central Avenue received a score of 90 for having cooked shrimp that did not have a date marked on it. Besides, the ice machine had a black soil residue.
